Ten days of wildlife wonders and incredible adventures, as we set out from Arusha and concentrate our safari first on magical Serengeti – the jewel of Tanzania – before enjoying a completely different, though equally impressive, setting at Ngorongoro. These unmissable locations will get us up close to a host of animals: Wildebeest and Zebra, lion and cheetah, elephants and buffalo, plus many, many more and fascinating birdlife.
The great Serengeti wildebeest migration is the movement of vast numbers of the Serengeti's wildebeest, accompanied by large numbers of zebra, and smaller numbers of Grant's gazelle, Thomson's gazelle, eland and impala. These move in an annual pattern that is relatively predictable. They migrate throughout the year, constantly seeking fresh grazing and, it's now thought, better quality water. In the hands of our expert driver-guide, you will experience encounters beyond your dreams. But rest assured, there’s always something interesting to see.
Ruaha National Park is the second-largest National Park in Tanzania and covers an area of about 22,000 km². It is one of the few of Tanzania's famous wilderness areas, whereby the experience of game viewing is spiced up by the exciting landscape and its Great Ruaha River.
Enjoy a full-day guided tour by boat from Stone Town to Prison Island and Nakupenda Sandbank. See tortoises, snorkel and sunbathe, then savor a buffet lunch of seafood and seasonal fruits.
Explore the Mnemba conservation area by snorkeling around the vibrant coral reef. See a variety of colorful fish and swim with dolphins on this fascinating boat trip departing from Kendwa.
Mikumi National Park lies alongside the Northern border of Africa's biggest Game Reserve - the Selous Game Reserve– forming a unique ecosystem. The open horizons and abundant wildlife of the Mkata Floodplain, the fashionable centrepiece of Mikumi, draw frequent comparisons to the more famous Serengeti Plains. More than 400 bird species were recorded, the lilac-breasted rollers, yellow-throated longclaws, and bateleur eagles joined by a host of European migrants during the rainy season.
